Toy Boat

Posted by Anne Yorks on Thursday, March 31, 2011

On the way home from our recent trip to Indianapolis, we got a little punchy. After a long day of basketball, we didn't leave until 6:30pm for our 10-hour drive. A couple hours into the drive we were all tired, but no where close to home. That's when the tongue twisters came into play.

I think we started with "Unique New York". The challenge was to say it five times as fast as you can.

We also loved: "She Sells Seashells Down by the Seashore", "Rubber Baby Buggy Bumpers", and "Toy Boat". Toy boat is funny because it seems like it's a easy one, but then the tongue usually gets twisted. Go ahead and try it!

This cookies are not toy boats, they're cookie sailboats!

This was the first time I did a sailboat cookie. That surprised me. I had the cookie cutter, but never got an order for it. I was very happy to use it for the first time. I really like the color combination of the white, aqua and yellow.

I have an anchor cookie cutter also, but it has some really thin areas, which means that the cookie has a higher probability of breaking. And since the client requested the name of the marina on the cookie, I decided to make a round cookie with an anchor.

The whole collection was fun to work on. But I have to say I was happy when it was done because the entire time I kept singing that STYX song, "Come Sail Away". I couldn't get it out of my head for the rest of the day.

On a separate cookie note...I need a little HELP. Any cookiers out there know where I can order printed icing sheets. I'm not even sure if this is available by the sheet, but I'm not ready to invest in the ink/printer set-up. I need the icing sheets for a really fun cookie idea for a friend's fundraiser that I will be donating in May. Any suggestions on who might do these would be MUCH appreciated!! If you can help, please email me at anne@flourboxbakery.com, or leave a note in the comments section below.

Thanks!!
