How to Decorate a Mardi Gras Mask

Posted by Anne Yorks on Wednesday, February 8, 2017

Let the good times roll with these Mardi Gras cookies!

Boy do I love cookie sets with just three colors!! It makes everything easier: the planning, the decorating, and the clean up! This set features Violet, Lemon Yellow, and Leaf Green.

Check out that new mask shape! Here is a video showing three different ways to decorate it.

Are you new to decorating? Click here to check out our 'getting started' tutorials for videos on how to make royal icing, piping and flooding, and rolling and baking. Recipes are included in the videos!

All three of these cutters are NEW and now available in our online shop! Click here to check them out!

In the video I used tip #2 for the outlining (before flooding). But to pipe those finer details on the mask, I scaled down to a tip #1.5

I think I like the crown as much as the mask. A simple flooded background with some fun fonts for the text. I used tip #2 on the yellow lettering and tip #1.5 on the green.

Did you notice the fleur de lis cookie? It's also a new shape, too!! Sleek and elegant and easy...the perfect accent cookie since those masks took some time to pipe!

One last note before I wrap this up.....
