Baked to Order

Your order is important to us! And, so is the high quality of our cookies.

We are committed to producing great tasting and looking cookies, meaning we bake them for your order. For this reason, we have limits on the number of cookies that we can produce at a time. We will review your order details and contact you within 48 hours to let you know when it can be added to our baking schedule.

Typically, we need at least 1 week’s notice for ‘cookie gift’ orders and at least 3 weeks’ notice for a ‘cookie favor’ order. While we do ask for a certain amount of notice on all orders…we are always happy to help in a cookie emergency. We will do our best to meet your order needs, but there may be times when our schedule is booked.

Flour Box Bakery

Cookie Packaging

Cookies are individually wrapped in a cellophane bag and finished off with a color coordinating satin ribbon. They are nestled into a bed of crinkle paper and bubble wrap and placed into a bakery box. Each box is lined with a color-coordinating piece of tissue paper. The bakery box is decorated with an exterior satin ribbon. Each gift order includes a personalized Flour Box postcard. Add your personal message to each gift during checkout in the ‘gift note’ area. The bakery box is then placed in a shipping box and cushioned with packaging materials to ensure safe delivery!

Special Requests

We would love to create a custom cookie just for you! Please give us a little bit of notice. We ask for at least 3 weeks, but you can jump on our baking schedule months in advance…the more notice the better. We will do our best to create a cookie that is just perfect for your wedding, birthday, shower or other special occasion. We ask for a 50% deposit at the time the order date is reserved and full payment prior to shipping (or at time of delivery on local orders).

Q: What is the minimum order on a custom order or a cookie favor order?

A: The minimum order is 1 dozen (12 cookies).

Q: On your website I can only order up to 36 cookie favors. Can I order more than 36 cookies for my event?

A: Yes, please do! We are happy to take small and big orders! Because our baking schedule varies, we request that orders larger than 36 cookies are submitted at least 3 weeks in advance. Orders of up to 36 cookies take approximately 7-14 days PLUS shipping time (1-3 business days via USPS Priority Mail) to turn around. Feel free to contact us with any special requests or advance orders.

Q: I want to add a name or change a color on a cookie. Can I do that?

A: Yes, minor changes like adding a name or changing a color can be done at no extra cost. Additional changes or more lengthy text may increase the price of the cookie.

Shipping Questions

Q: When Will My Cookies Arrive?
A: For Cookie Gift Boxes, plan on 3-5 business days for your order to be prepared (baked and decorated), plus shipping time. Cookie Favors up to 36 cookies, plan on 7-14 days for your order to be prepared, plus shipping time. On orders more than 3 dozen, please contact us!
We ship using the United States Postal Service’s Priority Mail, which usually takes 1-3 business days depending on where you are located. We are in central Pennsylvania…so orders close to PA will arrive a smidge earlier than those being delivered to California, for example. We love our postal workers and regularly bring them cookies. George is our favorite and always provides fantastic service! We have not been let down by the USPS. Please order feeling confident that your cookies are in good hands!

Q: Will you deliver locally to the State College / Bellefonte area?
A: Yes, we can deliver locally for certain orders. Please contact us directly to request this. Orders going outside the Happy Valley area are shipped.

Q: How much is shipping?
A: Our shipping rates are price based. On orders up to $36, shipping is $8. On orders $30 – $90, shipping is $15. On orders $90 and up, shipping is custom based on quantity ordered.

Q: How do you ship your cookies without them breaking?
A: All cookies are individually-wrapped and then nestled into a bed of crinkle paper and bubble wrap, and placed into a bakery box. The bakery box is then cushioned with packaging materials in a shipping box. We put almost as much effort into the packaging as we do the baking! A cookie may very occasionally break or crack, but it will still taste great. We will not refund an order unless 50% of the order is destroyed and broken. We are nice people, so if you have any problems with cookies you receive from us, please call or email right away and we’ll try our best to make things right.

Q: Will you overnight cookies in a cookie emergency?
A: Sure…we will use overnight service, but there will be an increased cost based on shipping fees.

Q: Can you guarantee an exact shipping date?
A: Sorry, we cannot guarantee an exact shipping date. But using the guidelines above, you can estimate a target date.
