Thank you for your interest in the Flour Box Bakery Cookie School!! These classes are offered to students of all levels that are looking for small class instruction. These interactive and dynamic courses are taught by Flour Box owner, Anne Yorks.

LOCATION:  Classes will be held at the Flour Box Bakery Cookie Studio in Bellefonte, Pennsylvania. The cookie studio is attached to my home and is in a residential neighborhood. Parking is available in the driveway or in front of the house. Please only park in those areas. If you are traveling from out of town, I would be happy to help with directions, food, and lodging.

 


ENROLLMENT: The class size will be limited to eight students per class. This creates a fun and interactive decorating session. Enrollment is on a first come, first serve basis. As soon as payment and the registration is received, you will be added to the class roster. CLICK HERE TO REGISTER!

 

TUITION: Cookie School classes are $89/person for basics class or $99/person for intermediate class.  Enrollment is confirmed with payment. Register for a class here. Payment can be made by check. Checks can be made out to Flour Box Bakery.  Registration is not complete with payment.

 

COURSE DESCRIPTIONS: Get excited to learn new decorating skills in the comfort of the Flour Box Bakery Cookie Studio. A live demonstration of each skill will be performed and students will be able to test out their new skills.  

  • Intro to Decorating: This class offers the basic fundamentals of cookie decoration and is ideal for a beginner or a student looking to advance current basic skills. This class covers baking tips, mixing icing, icing consistencies (pipe, flood, and 20-second and their applications), filling icing bags, piping, flooding, wet on wet techniques, marbling, icing accents (flowers, borders, leaves), icing transfers.

 

  • Themed Intermediate Decorating Classes: These classes are recommended for students that have decorating experience or that have already taken the Intro to Decorating Course.  The intermediate classes go a few steps beyond the basics and offer instruction on creating cookies with beautiful texture and dimension. Enjoy a class round-table discussion, facilitated by Anne, on design and creating cookies that POP! Several advanced techniques, for example, icing layers, brush embroidery, royal icing transfers, basket weave, and quilting - will be incorporated into each class. Some class instruction will also include using a KopyKake, airbrushing on cookies, adding gold accents, and more.

      

    COURSE MATERIALS (for all courses): Come ready to decorate, each cookie station will be set with everything needed to make the class projects, including: aprons, decorating tools, cookies and icing. At the conclusion of class, all first-time students will receive a Flour Box Bakery cookie school binder with a few recipes, notes, and cookie decorating resources. Additional inserts will be available for returning students that already have a binder. Completed cookie projects will be sent home with the students in a bakery box to show off to family and friends. Certain decorating supplies (tips, bottles, specialty ingredients, etc), including a decorating starter kit, will be available for purchase after class or on www.flourboxbakery.com. More details will be available at class.

     

    REFUNDS/CANCELLATIONS

    If you are unable to attend a class that you have registered for, please call or email Anne Yorks to cancel at anne@flourboxbakery.com or (814) 571-0720. A 10% admin fee will be assessed to all class cancellations. No refund will be available if cancellation is within two weeks of the class date unless the spot can be filled.

     

    CANCELLATION OF CLASS: If Flour Box Bakery needs to cancel a class due to inclement weather or other emergency, a snow/weather date will be set or full refund will be offered to enrolled students.
