Time to Hit the Links!

It's been a week since I last updated my blog. I think that's the longest I've gone without posting. But life got seriously busy. So many baby showers cookies! Quite a few birthdays - with some creative themes! A First Holy Communion! And a wedding anniversary!! And that anniversary was mine! Toph and I celebrated our 4th anniversary by enjoying an overnight stay in Charm City, aka Baltimore, MD.

I don't have any pictures to share, just the wonderful memories of our quick little getaway! I have to say, strolling along the Inner Harbor was a wonderful way to relax and enjoy the beautiful landscape. Our big day, Saturday, was mostly rainy. At first we were bummed, but it really kept the heat and the crowds away. So a little sprinkle was a good thing! We enjoyed some great garlic Parmesan wings and a tapenade white pizza at Maisy's on Charles Street. It was delicious and our waiter was fantastic! Did I mention at Maisy's they make their pizza with homemade mozzarella? It just melts in your mouth!

But enough about all that...

I have SO MANY cookie designs to share. I hope to have lots of updates this week (especially since I was a blog slacker last week). But first, I really want to show you some of my favorite cookies I've made this summer...Golf Cut-Out Cookies!!

Every year, my good friends from my hometown organize a golf tournament called 'Changin Lives' to raise money for cancer research at the Fox Chase Cancer Center in Philadelphia. This year they asked me to donate two cookie gifts for the raffle table.

I was already planning to offer a set of golf cookies on my website, so the timing of the donation could not have been more perfect!

Here is what I came up with. I decided that golf is as much a sport as it is a fashion show. So first, you need a cute hat to keep the sun out of your eyes.

Then you need a stripped polo.

And, what goes better with stripes than plaid shorts? Right?

I love doing this plaid. It's a little time consuming...but I think it is so neat!

This golf shorts cookie was inspired by this actual pair of shorts I found online...

And of course you need a pair of coordinating pink golf spikes to complete the ensemble!

But looking good is only half the battle. I have also included golf necessities like balls and tees, golf bag, and a golf cart. Plus you need somewhere to play...so I included a golf green.

I love driving golf carts.

Here's the entire 'pink' golf cookie gift. It includes 23 cookies: 2 golf greens, 3 golf bags, 2 shoes, 1 shirt, 1 hat, 1 plaid shorts, 1 golf cart, 6 bite-sized golf balls, and 6 bite-sized golf tees.

Since I didn't want to leave anyone out of the fun, I made a 'blue' golf cookie set as well.

I used the same style cookies, just different colors! On all the golf bags, I painted the club heads with silver luster dust to give them a metallic look. I think it is a nice finishing touch.

These mini cookies were quite popular at the Changin Lives Tournament!

Although, I think most people commented on the golf cart cookie. It just cracked people up!

This year I went with the plaid cookie...

But I'm actually considering these pants for next year's collection... (these polka dot beauties were made famous by golfer John Daly. They can be purchased on Loudmouth's official website click here)

These are my friends (and newlyweds) Jeff and Angie. Wow. Not many people can pull off those pants...but Jeff sure can! This picture makes me smile every time I look at it!

I'm not sure how much the Changin Lives tournament raised this year (it's 8th year), but over the past 7 years, this group of friends have raised more than $70,000 for cancer research. Pretty amazing!

Here is the view from the balcony at the country club.

What a nice way to spend the day!

That's all for the golf cookies! I'll be posting order links to the new golf collections this afternoon. And don't forget my other two Summer Cookie Collections...

I also have the Lemon Lovers Collection

And the Day at the Beach Cookie Collection

Have a sweet day!
