Red, White and Blue

Posted by Anne Yorks on Friday, June 28, 2013

One of my favorite color combinations is red, white and blue.  While making a set of cookies for Independence Day, July 4th, I made a super cute hot air balloon cookie for a friend. This is one of my new cookie cutters from Coppergifts.com. It's cutter #1755 and I love it!

Are hot air balloons in right now? I got a sweet order for a bridal shower last month and really enjoyed making them. Too bad I was in the midst of a busy week and didn't have time for photos.

I'm glad I took the time to photograph this red, white and blue beauty. I love how the balloon is so big and the basket is nice an small.

I added a little basket weave to my basket and a few red, white and blue garlands.

A beaded border finishes off the edge of the star. Makes it pretty, no? I love those little details.

I also made a bunch of 'stars and bars' for my coffee shop cookies. These will be available June 22 until sold out.

Here is a sample of what is available.

These hearts were inspired by one of my daughter's t-shirts.

I love the firecrackers. I am really looking forward to seeing some good fireworks this 4th. I have my fingers crossed that the weather cooperates.

And my favorite...a cookie stacker. Mmmmm. A cookie on a cookie. Double yum!

Finally, a special gift for some local heroes...red, white and blue thank you cookies!

I hope you have a safe and happy and SWEET 4th of July! God bless America!
